Profile:
The 'Bones are a seven piece band formed in late 2003 and are named after the jazz-slang term for 'Trombone'.

Originally the 'Bones starting out playing covers from popular third-wave ska bands such as Mad Caddies, Reel Big Fish and the Aquabats. The band has since written original material and now has a full repertoire of covers and originals, with influences of a variety of styles including Ska, Jazz, Latin and Rock.

The philosophy of the band is simple; get people dancing and having fun. Dressed in suits, the 'Bones present themselves as a professional (but not too professional) outfit on stage. The music is high energy with a nerdish sense of humour, and audience participation is encouraged.

The 'Bones accomplished much in their five years, winning the 2006 OUSA Battle of the Bands after coming runners-up the year before. They played support for many well established New Zealand bands, including The Managers, The Offbeats, The WBC and Kora. The 'Bones called it quits at the final stages of 2008 due to many band members relocating around the world.

Before their split, the 'Bones released their debut album "Chicks Dig Ska" - a collection of songs from over their existence. To get a hold of one of these albums, email brendamnfine@gmail.com or have a look around online!
