Profile:
The Bradley Initiative is a lo-fi/noise/improv collective hailing from Dunedin, New Zealand. Instrumentats include: un-tuned guitars, drums, broken bass guitars, tape decks, cinder blocks, and effects pedals. The Group rely heavily on feedback, improvised loops, and tape loops. The result is uncontrollable, unpredictable "mystery meat" music that can go from ambient relaxation to downright abrasive in seconds.
The band has been described as: ..."Pink floyd, mogwai, tool, nine-inch-nails and primus get lost on mars and try to depict lord of the rings battle scenes entirely with music...
The band's influences are wide ranging from The Dead C, Sega Megadrive, Tom Waits, The
Aesthetics, Cookie Monster, and that one guy in the audience.
The Bradley Initiative are prolific in the studio. Recordings are made without any planning,
all material is improvised, and often an album can be fully recorded in a matter of hours.
The Band's 10th studio album Moon's stuck in the sky, can't get down is available now
through Chinface Records.
