Patient and benevolent friends, our debut album is not far away,
no-no-no! High above Queen St in a not-very-dark tower the tracks are
being mixed by Edmund Cake.
As we understand it, if our album was going on a hot date, then she's
showered, brushed her teeth and is now standing around in her undies
deciding what to wear...
Please don't break her heart by not coming to the party. when she's
ready, take her out!
God Save The Clean
It was a dark and stormy night. Somewhere in the mother country the
Queen was wearing a cake for a hat and somewhere atop an old cemetery
in Dunedin, Tex "Chainsaw Massacre" Houston was stitching together a
beautiful piece of pop music history.
Are you now or were you ever a dorky teenager like we both were? Take
heart, friend! All the movies are true! Every teenage weirdo has one
glorious moment that casts a gold+silver sparkle over the dark spectre
of their tragically uncool past.
For Haunted Love, that moment came on Queen's Birthday Weekend '08,
standing around a figure-8 microphone and recording backing vocals
for... The Clean! From what we heard it's going to be a fantastic
album, so beware!
Music month delivered a few glories...
Getting to sit next to Stef Animal on the Real Groove Awesome Feeling
cd compilation was a treat. Stef is a rare talent. If you're lucky
enough to see her perform you'll wonder why any one is ever cruel to
another when music like hers exists. Truly glorious!
On the subject of compilations, Monkey Records have released Monkey
Magic Vol. 2! We're waving the Dunedin flag in amongst Tim Guy, Steve
Abel & The Chrysalids, An Emerald City, The Benka Boradovsky Bordello
Band... and many more.
On the smokey horizon.....
A national tour later in the year. Yes, we've put our old
fatty-bom-bom living room organ (The Enchanter) on a strict diet. if
all goes to plan we could be playing in your home town this spring!
Geva's and Rainy's latest news: Geva has just discovered her first
grey hair and is a step closer to that 'Bride of Frankenstein' look
she's always wanted. Rainy has adopted yet another cat. She is forming
a cat army to take over the Dunedin City council, then the world!!!!
May your winter nights be filled with toasty fires, past haunts and
dark romance.
