The Attic creates The A.R.C.
The last few months have been an exciting time for the folks up in the Attic. Not only have we settled in and stretched our legs but we were able to test the waters with the inaugural Attic Rattles. We were blown away with the reception from not only locals, but from people all over the country (word travels fast it seems).
Since then we have been working hard devising contraptions and concoctions to not only make the Rattles a regular occurrence but make them a little different from your standard gigs. We have been making plans with some interesting folk and if even only half of those plans come to fruition, then we can promise you are in for a good time.
From the 18th of April 2012 we will be introducing the Official Attic Rattle Club (The A.R.C). All gigs (unless otherwise stated) will be a members only affair. By operating on a membership basis we hope to establish The Attic as a safe (for both people and property) and well organised environment for some truly one of a kind shows. Becoming a bona fide member of The A.R.C will in fact be easier than not becoming a member.
Hold your horses though, before you go accusing us of perching ourselves high on some pedestal of coolness and street cred, hear us out first. We come in peace. With The A.R.C, we hope to bring a bit of spontaneity back to the local live music community by ditching traditional methods of event promotion (flooding your news feed for example) and going straight for the jugular.
Not only will we bring you the original Attic Rattles featuring some of the best and most interesting out of town acts but we will explore other initiatives such as sunday rattles, all ages shows, workshops, Rattle bootleg releases, sideshows, freak shows and anything else we cook up at the last minute.
You may get a week's notice or maybe we will announce it on the day, either way we will ensure our members are kept in the loop via email, txt message or carrier pigeon.
Will this work? We have no idea. It could all come crumbling down around us. But we may as well try, right? Let's see what happens.
------------------------------ HOW TO JOIN THE A.R.C ------------------------------
A.R.C membership will require you to sign up either via email or on the night of the gig . To avoid congestion on gig nights, the more people that sign up via email, the smoother things will go.
to sign up via email simply email theatticrattle@gmail.com and provide these three details.1. Name2. Cell Phone and/or E-mail3. Favorite Pokemon (security question)
simply hit send and we will add your name to our official log book and assign you your membership number. You can pick up your A.R.C card on the door of the following Attic show. Email registration is open 24/7 EXCEPT 1 hour before an Attic show.
Registration will be available on the door on the nights of Attic shows (unless otherwise stated) and you will be required to fill out a form with the same details as the email registration.
You will be required to present your A.R.C card / membership number at every Attic show (unless otherwise stated).
If you lose your A.R.C card you will be required to tell us your membership number or answer the security question on the door.
