And God Said...

A discussion about things non-musical.

And God Said...

Postby scurvydog on Fri Feb 19, 2010 10:44 pm

Yarrrrr ye filthy sons of New Edinburgh! There be life in the old city yet and I propose the revised musical title for our fair city be 'The Dunedin Debauchery!' With o week coming up and so many local bands playing, methinks this be befitting!

Methinks you got lucky last night captain!!! And God said...."I shall create man , woman , stars , planets and the electric guitar"....if Jesus played guitar what would his choice of ax be?? I can't get the picture of Jesus rockin out with a white strat in front of a wall of Marshalls out of my head.....yeah, not a fan but Hendrix was the Jesus of the guitar....then again they say that Clapton is God...lucky for us Black said the Devil was six....I reckon Satan plays a jet black SG like Tony Iommi....at the moment I am favouring an ES copy modded with Seymour Duncan Antiquity p90s...Cap'n Shag plays a Mexican strat modded with USA 1962 reissue pickups...Matt from Brains should reply to this thread 'cause I know exactly what guitar he needs for his sonic experiments and it would sound good through his eventual Fender Deville...patriotically spray painted a deeper black than it already is.... :D

I'm not that partial to Clapton. At least he knows what his tone and volume knobs are for though.

Hail !! Hail !!......and Hi Monki...we are having a discussion on what God said...or what we would like him to have said or what we think he should have said or in Cap'n Shags case....what he really heard God say to him!!! And I would like to hear what God said to you...or what you think he should have said....we are in fact atheists so we will take no offence at anything....but it must be known that we are the lost souls of generation X and we have sought enlightenment through ways and means best avoided....Cpt Shag, myself and the crew tried to find enlightenment by drinking 7 bottles of rum in some seedy b and b in Invercargill {aka the spiritual center of enlightenment} Shag was heard conversing with God through the great white telephone and God was heard to reply...we have sworn a Pirate Pact of secrecy as to what God said!! :D

Indeed Sir! God provides power to my amp and sometimes breaks my guitar strings for no apparent reason.
Although he set the PA on fire at our last gig, he secretly likes us and has a bottle of Black Heart rum under his bed. Good ol' God!

If I was a guitarist I'd be Stuart Adamson, Big Country and the Skids. He is almost as good as Jake Burns, Stiff Little Fingers, but unfortunately he hung himself in 2001. Ye be a legend matey!

Jings I would have been interested in owning a guitar previously owned by such a great man. Yes I think he is my fave guitarist of all time, I love all his stuff. I feel a connection with him, even though he was born in Manchester, but grew up in Gods [champion]. He was and always will be great. And Buddha said ....RIP Stuart

He was living in the USA and had a new band called "The Raphaels"...very LTD success with them...he was due to play an "80s Legends Show" at The SECC.....But seemed to have fallen off the wagon....went AWOL found dead in Hawaii. Reading between the lines I would say he had a history of depression, coupled with a booze problem its a potent mix.....and of course his self esteem had taken a mega fall after the stadium days of BC. He was also desperate to return home to Fife, but he had remarried to an American and had 2 small children at the time. :(
