Maybe there's an alternative universe where the ˜Glee™ audience gets to see those kids taking a shot at things like 'I Wanna Be Your Dog', 'Bodies' and NIN's 'Closer'

So far had no luck in finding that alternative universe. Tried a cup of hot water & lotsa nutmeg, but that didn't work either. Bit of a crappy week for obvious reasons & like a lotta folks I've a friend in Chch still unaccounted for, so...

... been playing Theo Ray's 'This Is Not Your Dream' CD lots.

Nice hint of paranoia to it, which seems to suit. 8-[

Dunno what Theo's up to now, but hope she's doing something; she really had her own wee niche going there for a while. Her 'Formica' project was really good too.

new Earth album, Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light. It's growing on me - not quite as good as The Bees Made Honey In The Lion's Skull, but that's a bit like saying that finding fifty bucks isn't quite as good as finding sixty bucks. You still got fifty bucks.

Also, some alva.noto Please put your hand up if you know who this is.

The Forgotten Guests - there's some solid Dunedin music.
Broadcast and The Focus Group Investigate the Witch Cults of the Radio Age, which I found out this morning was the Wire magazine record of the year a couple of years ago. It's gorgeous.
Liturgy - Aesthetica - New York rich kids do black metal. I really wanted to hate this album, but it's really [forking] good, so I can't.

That's about it.

RocknRolla soundtrack -
Picked it up cheap on Trade Me for The Scientists ‘We Had Love’ , but found other good stuff on it too; ‘Mirror in the bathroom’, The Sonics, 22-20s plus a few curiosities such as Flash & the Pan’s ‘Waiting for a Train’.

3-D’s ‘We Bury The Living’ -
Recent reissue of the first coupla EPs & various other oddments. Great fun & a nice reminder of those lively & hilarious gigs. Bruce Russell’s entertaining, occasionally acerbic liner notes are a bonus.

Yo. Uh.

'Why?' - Elephant Eyelash
DODDODO - I went to an Indie Rock festival in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo the other day that used all of the live houses in the area. People went from venue to venue, sipping drinks they bought from dairies in between. This girl was the highlight.
Shearwater - Rook
The Books - The Way Out
Mogwai - Hardcore Will Never Die but You Will

Crappity crap, it's hot.

hey sneak, if you ever get a chance, check out Yuko Nexus6 who is my favourite Japanese artist. She's EXCELLENT.

I listening to ThisQuietArmy, Apex Twin's Selected Ambient Works II and the Caretaker. Ambient Isolationish nonsense. Might dig out my copy of Music for Airports.

Is it actually possible to listen to music for airports without doing something else?

I haven't heard of that girl, I'll definitely check her out. Is she from the Tokyo area?

oh. And, um, Ruby Suns and Taken by Trees.
