Righto. Try it without the email and smilies, would you?

I'm sorry, my ridiculous busyness means I won't be able to look at this in depth for another week or so.

righto. Just remove the web link for now and I will come up with a solution very soon. I guess the new server must do things different, like.

Cheers for the detailed report :-)

When I try to edit my artist and save the changes, the loading/changing screen JUST KEEPS ON GOING...!!! Even for the simplest of changes.

Is there a problem? Or is it me and I should just wait a day or two while it loads?

You've pasted text in that contains "special" characters with Windows encoding would be my guess. The javascript cannot handle Windows encoding because it's nonstandard and weird. This might happen if you use Word, Wordpad, Outlook or any of those sorts of "programs" to prepare your profile - it was the case with other occurances of this bug that removing hyphens and quote marks fixed it - or replacing them with characters you type yourself.
An easy way to tell is if your quotes are curly. That'll crash it.

I've covered this bug elsewhere and as yet haven't found a solution, outside of getting people to stop using programs with proprietary character encoding.

I just had a look at your profile, and yes, there are several curly quotes. In particular, look out of single quotes that are slanty instead of straight.

You can recreate these, I think, by using normal character sets. On my machine,
option-] = ‘
option-shift-] = ’
option-] = “
option-shift-] = ”

On windows, Option corresponds to Alt.

but all I've been trying to do is remove a band member...I haven't added anything to the profile.

However I do want to change the bio and add some audio to the profile.

EDIT: Ok, I've since been able to change the Bio (and the apostrophes in it) but I am still having trouble uploading a song and removing a band member.

Cool, I've just fixed the thing with removing members. That was a genuine logic error. You should be able to run as expected now.

As for the audio, what happens there? Remember it takes forever to upload stuff. Try uploading something tiny. Works for me on your profile - although it draws horizontal lines everywhere. Mmmm, horizontal lines.

Ok, i've tried to upload a 5mb .mp3 and then a 500kb .wav, and both times it will think for a moment then redirect me to the main page with no evidence of having uploaded anything. Nothing on the profile page either.

I have tried clicking both 'save changes' and 'upload' without success.

Save changes won't do anything.
5mb will fail because it's too large. 4.5mb is the limit.
But whatr you're describing suggests that there's another admin-only redirect in place somewhere. I just ate a worm so I'm not really in the right state to fix it, but I'll check back ASAP.

Ok duder, worm or not, I'm always working for you. Because I care. Like Avis, or a hotel, I care.

Check it now, you should be pleasantly surprised. And my many appolllo-gees for the messing around.
