Name: Spike (technically Young Spike Junior, but that's another story)

Instrument: Bass & vocals(70% backing / 30% lead)

Genre: been doing some rock originals & mostly fifties-noughties classic dance covers in UK, Wellington & Dunedin. Supported Jimmy Barnes, jammed with Stevie-Ray, and competed with Glen Matlock (ex-bassist for Sex Pistols) in London. I was a bit better but he was famous so he got the job :)

Past bands: 1976-8 Feedback (Beatles etc covers), 1979-81 Credit/Export Quality (fifties-seventies classics covers), mid'80's 2xUniversity Capping Shows, '85 Pictures (forerunner to NDTs), '86 Fear of Flying (Hendrix-style originals), '86 Clubhouse (sixties-eighties top 40 dance covers-incl new romantics keyboard stuff), 1987 Dick Thrust Blues Band (blues classics & originals in Wgtn), 1989 The Forgotten (Eagles etc covers in London), 2002-4 (+ brief 2010 reuniting for All-Blacks vs Wales Carisbrook gig). Time Machine (fifties-noughties classics covers)

Forgot to mention that I play a Fender Jazz I bought new in 1980, and also have a 1960 Hofner (Beatle-style) bass that needs some attention.

Building: Classic dance covers band aiming at lucrative functions market.

Cell : 027 4545 484

NB: Been around for years but still look in my '30's. Want some fun, hard practice and lucrative gigs? Let's talk.

UPDATE: Had 2 guitarists but 1 had different taste, so back to seeking prof drummer and either guitar or keyboards.

hey Adam, don't know if you know them but you should go introduce yourself to the people at None Gallery (24 Stafford St) next time they have a show there - you'll probably find some kindred spirits. Their webside is http://www.none.org.nz/
Plus sames with the Proxy Music kids, similarly...

Name: Andrew [19]

Instrument: Rhythm/Lead Guitar [been playing electric for about 3 years, started with Classical and played that for 4 years]

Genre: Laid back, well known, easy listening stuff ala RHCP, Sublime, Weezer etc.
Would also be keen to do some originals.

Gear: I currently have a Fender American Deluxe Strat going through an Orange Dual Terror and Orange 2x12" closed back cab. Also own an acoustic gat.

I'm mainly hoping to join a band to earn some cash in the weekends and have some good laughs. If you're keen, hit me up: 0273593598

Cheers.

Dedicated vocalist seeks band!

Whatever it is, man. Just flew in from Canada. I'm open to whatever's good. We can do a standard rock'n'roll thing or a bluegrass group. Sabbath cover band or a psychedelic folk act. Whatever's out there.

I'm classically trained. I've been working as a professional musician for as far back as I could be considered old enough to work professionally. (if that makes any sense). Anyway, looking to make some music.

hi i'm: annelyse
i'm from: california, just moved to dunedin
i play: acoustic guitar, vox
some things i like in music: rich harmonies, french, dissonance, strings n brass, clever lyrics, unpretentious mathrock, the 50's, controlled chaos, unusual instrumentation, humor
some bands i like: emily loizeau, destroyer, cap'n jazz, efterklang, guided by voices, man man, little teeth, andrew bird, kay kay & his weathered underground, the paper chase

i'm a pretty inexperienced musician and an even more inexperienced songwriter. in fact, i've only just written my first song: http://soundcloud.com/placebosingers/exchange-1

i'd love to join up with an existing band in need of vocals/backupguitar, or build something from the ground up with someone.

I'm a singer-songwriter from Hawaii but have been living in Dunedin for about 5 years. I have played and performed with bands + other musicians in the past (Park City, SLC, Honolulu) and have started getting back into performing in NZ.

My style: folk, bluegrass, hawaiian (think jack johnson). But flexible.

Instruments: Guitar (10 years, solid), Piano (by ear), vocals, violin (played for 10 years but currently violin-less and haven't played it in ages)

I am seeking musicians to accompany music I have written but I would also love to work out some new tunes with someone.

If you play Bass, Double Bass, Electric Bass, Cello, Viola, Violin, Keys, Drums, Guitar, Mandolin, Ukulele, or any instrument, I would love to hear from you!

You can listen to my music at www.elishakemp.com
or email me at elishakemp@mac.com

Mahalo!

Hi I'm one of the Bandless Muso's....moved recently to Dn from NI. Had about 8 years playing covers from 1960's to present in 2 different bands...hotels, private gigs, even fundraisers. I'm no Cheryl Crowe ( yes I'm female) but will give anything a go. I play rhythm guitar and have my own gear including mic. I sing also, I espcially like harmonising. Unfortunately I have to keep the day job and would not be able to gig in a big way but was wondering if there were any other musos out there who are keen to have a jam and ,like myself ,just want to make music and have fun and perhaps if it works could gig occasionally.
