Blistering Tongues back in town!

Postby chernobyl kid on Wed Jun 06, 2012 4:54 pm

That's right trendsetters!
Blistering Tongues are playing at the Dunedin Musician's Club on Friday the 13th of July. Also playing from the Motueka Valley is Shunt and Grandad's Wedding ( Billy Bathgate's band). Local bands are Gravemind and Kitten Surprise.
Funnily enough...the Tongues are Glenn, Nabby, Vanya and Ham who had the final headlock in 2006! Liars!!!!
Anyways...it's part of the ten gigs in ten days tour which also take in Nelson,Ngatimoti,Barrytown,Fox,Franz,Wanaka,Invercargill, Oamaru and Lyttleton starting Friday 6th July.
Listen to songs at www.bandcamp.com/blisteringtongues.
Two new songs up there as well from new album due in December.
We are gagging for it!

Who're you calling old?!
We'll be 17 in December!
Anyways...it amuses me when people talk about our "last" gig.
We have never officially had a 'last' gig.
We had a 'final headlock' in 2006 which was Nabby's and Vital's 'last' gig as both were physically struggling with the demands of the animal which is a Blistering Tongues show.
Vital's knee was bung and Nabby's wrist was shot.
Stu got back on drums and we played a few shows as The Tongues.
Ham moved to Auckland and I to Nelson.
Vital then took over as bass player (which we all know he plays VERY well) and Nabby missed us so much that he had to 'come back' and just deal with the pain.
So...that was us until earlier this year when Stu couldn't commit so we were looking at getting Paddy (Christpuncher, Skaface Claw, ECAAT, etc) on board. He really wanted to but would have been a juggling act.
We were all at Ham's Wedding when Vital joked about getting the band back together. Ham said that he could commit for two years as he's studying for his Masters and Vital's knee is as strong as Martin Crowe's so here we are 6 years later... the band is back!
We haven't played in Dunedin for over two years so REALLY looking forward to it!!!
Who's bringing the scones?
