Profile:
THERES a Southern uprising, as heavy Dunedin trio MIRIKACHINIST prepare to take
on New Zealand after their debut EP Force Forged release.

MIRIKACHINIST began honing their sound in winter 2009, when guitarist/vocalist John Sears,
drummer Jeremy Mackay, and bassist Slade MacDonald got together.
Since then they've developed their own brand of liquid metal,
practicing like madmen in various places,
including an abandoned abattoir.
MIRIKACHINISTS chunky though melodic style is pure, no [bovine eyelashes] metal, focused on powerful hard driven grooves and brutal rock solid rhythms.

After a period away, MacDonald is back in the fold reuniting the original crew.
With this line-up, MIRIKACHINIST will capitalise on 2010s successes, when they were the winners
of the South Island heat of the national Battle of the Bands.
That victory and their performance at the final in Auckland forced heavy music
fans to stand up and bang their heads.
In September 2011 MIRIKACHINIST supported Brazilian metal legends Eminence and New Zealands own Darklight Corporation on the Guns at Dawn tour in Queenstown, Dunedin, and Invercargill.

October 1st came the epic release show for the EP proudly supported by The Rock FM Otago with pre EP release teasers on The Axe Attack and The Kiwi Metal Bar on Kiwi FM.

With plenty of momentum their focus is to take the liquid metal to the stage,
with new songs and gigs expanding further through 2012 and New Zealand.

Enter Lead Man....Jono Sorensen. Shredding the lead guitar.

Proud to be a part of Dunedin Heavy, MIRIKACHINIST play straight up Metal. HARD.
