PRESS RELEASE: Northern Artery presents: Cheese - A Cabaret in Four Segments
Sound the trumpets! The folk who brought you the award winning ‘Cabaret Botanica’ and ‘Valley Tales’, Northern Artery, are doing it again. “Cheese - A Cabaret in Four Segments” finally makes it's world debut at Sacred Heart School’s Nga Maara Hall, in Dunedin's glorious North East Valley on the 19th & 20th of June.
Featuring a cast of talented NEV performers including members of the Sounds Nor’ easterly Choir and the cabaret band The Fondue Set, the show was written by members of the Northern Artery collective and is directed by well-known theatre director and performer, Clare Adams.
The cabaret leads us to a happy North Dunedin, where people care about their neighbours, smile at children and stop to pat friendly cats and dogs. Blessed though the Valley is however, things are not as perfect as they should be in this land of milk and honey. The Valley is in crisis. The country has no cheese and the Holy Rollers can’t make their famous fundraising 'Southern Sushi' aka Cheese Rolls! Will Madame Colostrum save the day? Will the evil Feta Gouda Brigade from the Cheese Police find the only cow hidden in the village, and where the feta is the Milkman of Human Kindness when you need him? All these questions and more will be answered at “Cheese – A Cabaret in Four Segments”.
It’s a show for the whole family, even the lactose intolerant. Music, mayhem and delicious madness. Community created comedy and entertainment at its cheesy finest!
