Jaded are an acoustic rock act from Dunedin comprised of two singer songwriters/Guitarist's Jae Bedford and Jodi Pringle. Sometimes with Drummer/Percussionist Tim Currie. Jae also plays Harmonica, Mandolin and bouzuki. Jodi'S talents extent to Piano and Mandolin.
Jaded came 3rd in Dunedin's regional final of the World Battle of the Bands. Jaded Have a melodic yet dark pop/rock sound.
Jaded formed in early 2004. In December 2003 Jae Bedford was playing a gig with his rock band Commercial 500 @ the Arc Cafe when his opening act fell through due to other commitments. So Jae's duo partner Kris Bate hooked him up with acoustic singer/songwriter Jodi Pringle. Early 2004 Kris and Jae were playing regularly @ the Travel Bar and Kris was out of town so Jae asked Jodi to fill in for Kris and thus Jaded was born. Jaded have been very busy in the short time thy have been playing together they have continued to play every Thursday since February @ Travel Bar some times with solo shows as well, in July Jaded played live to air on 107 Inferno Fm. In June they were given the opportunity to test their original material on the New Edinburgh Folk club when the society asked them to be showcased on a club night. They have recorded 5 songs so far toward a studio album they aim to release before the end of the year. And have been recording their live material at Travel Bar, Tull & the Arcoustic night @ the Arc Cafe and have recorded the final recordings at the Otago Muesem's Atrium for a live album to be tittled 'Live To Sing Another Day'. Jae & Jodi have alot of experience in the music industry playing with dozens of bands like The Rebels (Nelson) and Stark Raving both of which have released CDs with Jae. Jodi has played with many act's in Dunedin and Aukland including The Troubadors Of Mercury and they have both played solo in Dunedin, Wellington, Christchurch, Nelson, Invercargill, Gore, picton and Auckland. They have had rather great opportunities playing at APRA concerts and opening for kiwi country/folk legend John Hore Grennell. Jodi's song 'Little Miss Everything' had praise from rock legend Martin Phillips of The Chill's saying 'That is a hit song' and John Hore Grennel saying that he loved the words in Jae's songs. Jodi and Jae juggle these musical commitments with very busy lives. Jae is a family man & full time 2nd year music student @ Otago University with a partner and 2 year old child and a new arrival due late January. Jodi is a Tutor @ the Otago Polytechnic in the Vet Nursing department. But the music doesn't seem like work for Jae and Jodi as they love performing and plan to be doing it for the rest of their lives.
