Robert Scott has had a prolific career spanning 20 years. He started out as the bass player for The Clean before creating his most well known project to date, The Bats. The Bats started out in Christchurch in 1982 and was a fantastic outlet for Robert's songs. When signed to Flying Nun the band gradually released material, the most recent of which are the 7" Ep Spill the Beans (1994), Couchmaster (1995) and Thousands of Tiny Luminous Spheres (2000) Robert's music has been described as dark and brooding, infectious and sometimes playful.
In the later part of the nineties Bob was the driving force behind The Magick Heads and in 2000 he released his solo album The Creeping Unknown.
